Super Street Fighter 4 Super Street Fighter 4 2011-01-27T13:14:21Z WordPress http://streetfighter4.org/feed/atom Kenzo <![CDATA[Background on Street Fighter IV]]> http://streetfighter4.org/?p=107 2011-01-27T13:14:21Z 2010-10-25T07:09:37Z On October 17, 2007, more than eight years since the release of Street Fighter III 3rd Strike for the arcades, Capcom unveiled Street Fighter IV at a Capcom Gamers Day event in London. Conceived as a direct sequel to the early Street Fighter II games (particularly Super Street Fighter II Turbo) and borrowing from the arcade and casino world, Street Fighter IV features the return of the original twelve world warriors and recurring hidden character Akuma, along with four new characters (as well as a new boss character) in a storyline chronologically set between Street Fighter II and Street Fighter III. The gameplay, while still 2D, features cel-shaded 3D graphics inspired by Japanese sumi-e paintings. The Super Combo system, a Street Fighter mainstay since Super Turbo, returns along with new counter-attacking techniques called “Focus Attacks” (”Saving Attacks” in Japan), as well as new “Ultra Combo” moves, similar to the Rage Gauge seen in games from SNK Playmore.

The cast includes six characters new to the Street Fighter series. Abel, an amnesiac French wrestler, secret agent C. Viper, obese kung fu fighter Rufus, and luchador chef El Fuerte. The other two new characters are Seth, the game’s boss, and Gouken, a secret character based on the infamous Sheng Long. Returning characters are Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, Akuma, Sakura, Bison, Sagat, Balrog, Vega, Blanka, Guile, Zangief, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Fei Long, Rose, Gen, and Dan. Yoshinori Ono had hinted that the only two Street Fighter II characters absent from the game, Dee Jay and T. Hawk, could be available in the game at a later date. Instead, they were to be included in a whole new version of the game.

Street Fighter IV was released for the iPhone in March, 2010. It features Ryu, Ken, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, Bison, and Abel. Cammy, Zangief, E. Honda and C. Viper were later added to the roster as free updates.

The arcade version, which runs on the Taito Type X2 hardware, was distributed in Japan on July 2008, with a limited release in North America and the United Kingdom in select arcades in August and in some play bingo halls. A home version was released in the USA and Europe in February 2009, on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and in July 2009 for Windows PC. This features an expanded character roster, as well as all-new animated segments that show each character’s backstory, and a training mode similar to the Expert Challenges in Street Fighter EX.

The game has received the SUPER title owing to the popularity and also because of its logo (as of previous versions).
Information has started flowing all over the world as people are so excited to know the features of this game. An interview with some of the experts has revealed that the game has the inclusion of a renowned Korean Tae Kwon Do martial arts expert, Juri (considered as Seth’s Henchman). The game will also feature T.Hawk and Dee Jay, the famous characters of Super Turbo series of Street Fighter.
People right now are spreading some rumors about the cast of the game and they listed many new characters before the release of the game yesterday.
The new characters include Hakan who is an Arab grappler and normally has lots of lots of oil with him. Some of the best characters of the previous versions have also been included. From Street Fighter III we have Ibuki, Dudley and Makoto. Adon, Guy and Cody from the Alpha series of Street Fighter and the characters from Super Turbo series as said earlier. But the characters will only be revealed once the game is launched and we will then know how many of these rumors turned out to be actually true.
The game will have new features to the old returning cast and they will give you a fresher look. To make the game upto date, gameplay will be much improved, giving the end user a more exciting gaming experiance.
So, all Street Fighter fans, get excited. Spring 2010 for the release of Super Street Fighter IV for your XBOX 360 and Playstation 3.

In fact, thanks to YouTube, the entire interwebz got their collective mice/mouses/clicks/monitors/etc… on the same thing. Without further adieu:

I think its hilarious how the entire thing is in Chinese but the background music hilariously reminds me of an American 80s song that belongs in Rocky 5.

Kenzo <![CDATA[Street Fighter YouTube Game]]> http://streetfighter4.org/?p=90 2009-01-20T22:18:34Z 2009-01-20T22:18:34Z This must have taken forever to make. How long? We’d like to know! While it won’t fill the vacancy in your heart reserved for Street Fighter 4, it will kill a few minutes of boredom. Using YouTube’s new button-like features the maker of these vids has created a choose-your-own-adventure type of YouTube game that is, essentially, a Street Fighter game.

Sorry if that is not what you were expecting but I have no clue how I could possibly describe it any better! Pretty crazy, right? While its a neat little gimmick I feel completely sorry for the lad that spent countless hour upon hour making it. They REALLY had to be bored.

YUMMY! Oh, what is that I hear? XBOX 360 fans complaining? Complain no more, your Collector’s Edition Cover Art is here as well:

Man, I really really LOVE this one:

The SF4 Collector’s Edition is $79.99 and here is what you’ll get for being a faithful SF4 follower in these trying economic times:

1. The game (duh)

2. A limited-edition (ie., not sold anywhere else) figurine – Ryu in the PS3 box, C. Viper hotness in the 360 flavor. Decisions, decisions…

3. Street Fighter IV: The Ties That Bind: a 65 minute anime movie — created by Studio 4C — that sets up the story of SFIV by explaining events post-SFII. BluRay disc in the PS3 box! The Xbox version is a 360 game disc that outputs the movie at 720P, not a DVD.

4. A mini-strategy guide from Prima, written by the same people doing the full-on guide and illustrated by Udon Comics

5. CD soundtrack. Rock SFIV stage chunez in your car!

6. …Plus some secret additional downloadable content that we’re not quite ready to reveal at this point. Look for more announcements soon!
