Akuma

Akuma and Gouken were brothers and students of Goutetsu. He taught the brothers the martial art Ansatsuken (Assassin Fist) and the killing technique called Shun Goku Satsu (Instant Hell Murder). Although incredibly powerful, this killing move also puts the user in considerable danger and a position of vulnerability.

As the brothers got better and better, their thought about martial arts took divergent paths. While Gouken believed in the spirit of competition and rejected the most violent part of Ansatsuken, Akuma believed that to master the martial art you must disregard any feelings of compassion. The two split ways and Akuma started his own dojo.

The prinicple of Satsui no Hado allowed Akuma to be consumed by the power of murder and kill virtually any other fighter. He proved this by killing his own master in a fight, who was proud that his student was mastering the technique. But, he lost to his brother Gouken but later returned and killed him. Ryu and Ken witnessed the killing and vowed to revenge his death. Akuma later intervened in the middle of the world warrior tournament, killing M. Bison and sending his soul to hell.
